A Star-Studded Guest List
At Tharavadu, our mission has always been simple: to share the authentic flavours of Kerala with Leeds and the UK. But over the years, our reputation has attracted not just locals and travellers — but also a remarkable list of celebrities, actors, directors, and political leaders.
Each visit is a reminder that the magic of authentic Indian cuisine knows no boundaries.
Hollywood Meets Kerala
One of our most memorable guests was Andrew Lincoln, the Hollywood actor best known for The Walking Dead. After dining with us in 2022, he said:
“I’ve only just returned from Kerala and fell in love with the place and its people. I feel the same way about this place.”
For us, this was a powerful validation — proof that Tharavadu captures the essence of Kerala so authentically that it resonates with those who’ve just experienced it firsthand.
Bollywood & British Icons
Our connection to India’s cultural heart runs deep. In 2015, we welcomed acclaimed Bollywood director Anurag Kashyap, who shared his admiration for our menu. That same year, British TV personality Chris Kamara joined our guest list, highlighting the restaurant’s growing reputation beyond the Indian community.
Political Leaders at Our Table
In 2020, we were honoured to host Sir Keir Starmer, UK Opposition Leader, at Tharavadu. His visit marked the first of many political leaders who have since dined with us, recognising our restaurant as not only a culinary landmark but also a cultural hub for Leeds.
Why Celebrities Choose Tharavadu
The appeal lies not in glamour but in authenticity. High-profile guests, whether actors, athletes, or politicians, can eat anywhere in the world. But when they come to Leeds, they choose Tharavadu because we offer something unique:
Universal Appeal, Local Roots
From Hollywood to Westminster, the celebrities who dine with us prove that Tharavadu’s reputation extends far beyond Leeds. Yet at its heart, our restaurant remains rooted in our community, proudly serving locals with the same dedication as we do world leaders.
